Andy Baker
As Managing Director, Andy will ensure that Arte has the necessary skills, resource, knowledge, experience, and competence to deliver Fire remedial works. His focus is on developing people and teams to ensure that they work respectfully with each other and foster teamwork, shared commitments, and collaborative objectives.
He leads the company culture and behaviours by encouraging all members of staff and supply chain partners to take personal responsibility and accountability for managing the quality of their work taking a safety-first approach.
Andy is an effective straightforward leader with 26 years of experience of delivering residential developments. He has a proven track record of successful business leadership within Tier 1 construction companies and an exemplary health and safety record.
He is a people person and likes to create a place where people bring the best of themselves to work. His communication style is clear and collaborative, and he will use this to lead his SLT to communicate effectively among all stakeholders involved in the BSR process, including designers, contractors, regulators, and building owners, and end users.
Andy owes much of his success from his ability to identify the best people and to shape and build empowered teams; many of which have worked with Andy for +15 years as a testament to his management and leadership skills.
Andy joined Keepmoat in 2015 and played an instrumental part in the setting up of a new residential construction division of Keepmoat. He grew the business by 60% in four years and delivering projects from £5m to £50m. As Divisional Director, Andy held a position on the regional board. responsible for Operational Leadership, Health and Safety, Client acquisition and retention, Project Delivery and People Development.
Following the acquisition by Engie in 2017, Andy was called upon for his knowledge of the residential market to form a 5-year plan to create a new business model assisted by Engie investment. Andy worked with the senior leadership team to grow the business by 25% through a contractor-developer model.
Prior to Keepmoat / Engie, Andy assumed the role of Pre-construction Director at Wates Southern Contracting Region and later took a lead role in establishing Wates Residential.
Andy joined the construction industry with Willmott Dixon in 1993 where he worked from a trainee to Operations Director where he delivered a broad range of mixed-use residential construction projects and large multi phased regeneration schemes
